“I can’t imagine that if you’re putting something in your body that’s filled with fear or anxiety or pain that that isn’t somehow gonna be inside of you.” ~ Ellen DeGeneres
What reason, then, could there be to not be vegan except for ignorance, utter selfishness and a complete disregard for all life —- both present and future. We must be diligent in our cause to obliterate ignorance. Only then, will we be able to determine who is purposefully participating in global genocide and the destruction of our planet and we will have no choice but to defend ourselves, our children and their children.
I have a regular monthly slot as a guest on the Joey Giggles worldwide radio show: every third Tuesday. We recapped what you could do to recruit an army for your cause and discussed what it takes to be a leader. Listen in to find out if you are leader material.
I also expressed how I could use a small team of cyber warriors to engage in long-term campaigns. These are no trivial campaigns! If you were to join my team, you would have the pleasure of touching lives. You would have a small part in changing the world. Are you interested?
I need someone who has time to spare. If you are already heavily engaged in your own campaigns, please disregard this opportunity. I want your commitment to the projects I will enlist you in. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have a life but if you are really looking for something meaningful to do for a couple of hours a day, if you truly want to engage in significant life-changing activities, this volunteer position may be right for you.
If you are not familiar with these tools, that’s okay. I will help you master them. You must, however have Skype and a video cam so that I can interview you. I will then give you a series of tasks before taking up your torch. Still interested? Hook up with me on Facebook. What could you possibly have to lose?
“We are all animals of this planet. We are all creatures. And nonhuman animals experience pain sensations just like we do. They too are strong, intelligent, industrious, mobile, and evolutional. They too are capable of growth and adaptation. Like us, firsthand foremost, they are earthlings. And like us, they are surviving. Like us they also seek their own comfort rather than discomfort. And like us they express degrees of emotion. In short like us, they are alive.”—Joaquin Phoenix | EARTHLINGS
Hello, I’m 17 years old and running Plymouth half marathon for sea shepherd to raise funds and awareness. I believe we should fight to conserve the beautiful animals on this planet and respect them. would you be interested in donating anything on my charity page? http://www.justgiving.com/Craig-Vincent0
On March 15, 2012, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), United States Department of Commerce, authorized the states of Idaho, Oregon and Washington to take lethal measures to remove up to 92 California sea lions from the Bonneville Dam. Per the letter signed by James H. Lecky, Director, Office of Protected Resources, the animals identified to be predators of endangered salmon can be shot by qualified marksmen
“We believe that there is a perfect harmony and equilibrium to the universe. Humans are the only species that disturb this equilibrium. We have an obligation and a responsibility to keep nature intact, which has been imbalanced by the gluttonous lifestyle of humans and our disregard for the planet and its creatures.”—Barbi Twins
Thousands of servicemen died in April of 1942 — during World War II — while being forced to walk for days in the Philippines. In honor of these fallen heroes, thousands will be marching a similar route through a desert in New Mexico and Sea Shepherd’s Matthew Smith will be there.
The 23rd Annual Bataan Memorial Death March will be held on March 25. Registration is now closed to the public for this 26-mile marathon, but you can still show your support. As posted on the official site at bataanmarch.com:
The Public is invited to attend the “Heroes of Bataan” Memorial Monument 10th Anniversary Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, 24 March 2012, 9AM-10AM, Veteran’s Memorial Park, 2651 Roadrunner Parkway, Las Cruces, NM.
Matt is very excited about this event. He says that he will do his best to win the race but he’s just glad he can go to represent Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
There are two routes. The Blue route (14.2 miles) is for those who don’t want to go the full stretch but still wish to show their respects. The Green route (26.2 miles) is for the warriors like Matt Smith and he doesn’t plan to walk it! There’s more! Not only is he going to run a marathon in the White Sand desert of New Mexico; he’s doing it through a missile range. This is no joke! Participants of the Death March are urged to familiarize themselves with the White Sand unexploded ordnance safety video!
I asked Matt if he wanted me to urge people to show up and lend their support. He said, “No. Not at all.” He just wants everyone to know that Sea Shepherd will be represented in this courageous memorial. My hat is off to Matthew Smith! He’s been to the Antarctica to save whales, Taiji to save dolphins and now he’s running through a frickin’ mine field to raise awareness for Sea Shepherd and what they do. Wow!
I really wish I could be there to give him a nice cold glass of water when he is done. May I suggest that if you are in the neighborhood on March 25, show up wearing your SSCS gear.
Born in Ohio, raised in Illinois, and living in Wisconsin, Matt Smith, 34, wasn’t always a conservationist. Trying to expand his horizons and leave his small town of Charleston, Illinois, Matt joined the U.S. Army right after high school. After serving multiple tours overseas, he decided to come home and start a family. Back in the US, Matt joined the International Union of Operating Engineers and traveled to Japan to try and stop the slaughter of dolphins in Taiji. While there, he was introduced to Sea Shepherd and asked by Paul Watson to join them on a campaign to the Southern Ocean. Matt is married and has a six-year-old child. He lives a green life and continues to be an activist wherever there is an animal in need of a human voice.
Dolphins no longer to be kept in captivity
Following votes in both houses of parliament, the keeping of dolphins or whales in Swiss zoos or waterparks will be forced to come to an end.
While the House of Representatives approved a ban on keeping dolphins on Tuesday, the Senate opted for an import ban on Wednesday, which would mean the dolphins currently in Switzerland could not be replaced when they died.
Maui’s dolphins are the rarest marine dolphin on earth. The species has experienced a dramatic decline and range contraction since the1970s. With more than ninety percent of their kind already lost, they have been reduced to a small, remnant population of some 55 individuals off the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island. This equates to less than 20 breeding females. Extinction is imminent.
Hi everyone ♥ here, please COPY & PASTE the following on your wall, and participate in “Let’s Face It”:
With an estimated population drop in less than a decade from 111 to only 79 of the Maui’s left, they urgently need your help ✮ and we would love to see your beautiful faces as part of our campaign.
We are nearing our deadline to collect everyone’s visual petition (VP) to allow for time needed to produce sets of banners and posters.
Your “Let’s Face It” visual petitions would help us reach our goal of 1,000 by 20 March 2012.
There are at least 152 VPs on the Facebook “Let’s Face It” page, and I have an additional 250 that are in preparation.
Please spread the word! Also, it would be wonderful to have your help in collecting visual petitions (VPs) for the “Let’s Face It” campaign. If you would like to collect VPs, please message me, Peggy Oki, with your e-mail address so that I can send you suggestions on teaming up & the documents about the campaign. Thanks!!♥

You can find reports of a number of the cases of animal testing done for Sucralose/Splenda and commissioned by Tate & Lyle (from whom I will never be buying so much as a grain of sugar ever again) in the Journal of Food and Toxicology (I used my university electronic library to gain access) so…
Are you people freaking KIDDING me? You ENJOY this? What the heck is wrong with you? Someone needs to take you by the face and neck and sling you around. See how “enjoyable” you really think it is, you sick freaks.
To everyone else, if you don’t know what “snapperfest” is, look it up. It’s terrible.
Cove Guardian situation update: Truth is stranger than fiction
It is now early in the morning of March 13 in Taiji and things are calm. No one was arrested and that is the problem. Yesterday’s events would not be believable if they were to appear in a screenplay. An angry mob of delusional delinquents managed to humble the police and control the situation.
The irony is not lost here. We do appreciate that the police put themselves in jeopardy to protect the Cove Guardians. The five Cove Guardians involved are particularly grateful. Cove Guardians are not the most likeable folks in Taiji, but the police do have the duty to enforce laws and keep the peace even if they find it disagreeable and dangerous.
We do not cry foul at the nationalists’ outburst. Yes, their actions are unlawful and violent and we do not condone them. We do appreciate the fact that their violent, frantic, and rabid behavior proves to us that Sea Shepherd’s tactics in Taiji and in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary are making an impact. Not only are we reducing the number of whales and dolphins being killed, we are successfully exposing the shame of the Japanese government’s support of such atrocities. The nationalists are reacting to their shame.
To speak ill of someone in their absence is cowardly and has no purpose except to pamper the gossiping parties’ low self-esteem. Such conduct also exposes the backbiters’ ignorance of these traits as they flamboyantly place themselves on display.

A Bizarre Display of Police Authority in Taiji, Japan
Events unfolding today in Taiji are beyond understanding. Five Cove Guardians from three nations are there monitoring the dolphin killers and dolphins in captivity. A gang of Japanese nationalists showed up at the cove this morning and when they saw the Guardians the nationalists reacted violently. The nationalists’ reaction is not surprising. What is surprising is the police reaction to the event.
The police, who supposedly have authority and weapons, let the nationalists act against the Guardians in ways that would assuredly get Guardians arrested if we treated the dolphin killers the same way. Again, we are not particularly surprised by this double standard and have come to expect it.
What is baffling is how the police later handled the matter. The police told Melissa, the Cove Guardian leader, that the Guardians provoked the police by having gone swimming in the cove earlier this week. In other words, the police are treating us the way police sometime blame a rape victim for having worn a short skirt.
